| BRIAN GROSSMAN
joined the firm in September of 2006 after 18 years of public
service with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. Mr.
Grossman was most recently the Supervisor of the Real Estate
Taxation Section where he supervised a team of 16 Assistant
State’s Attorneys.
As an Assistant State’s Attorney, Mr. Grossman represented the
Cook County Board of Review, Cook County Assessor and Cook
County Treasurer in numerous proceedings in Circuit Court and
the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board (“PTAB”). Mr. Grossman
also personally handled thousands of valuation cases for Cook
County. Mr. Grossman tried approximately 300 civil and criminal
cases before Cook County judges. He also tried many cases before
the PTAB. In addition, Mr. Grossman tried 38 felony criminal
cases before juries. He also authored 15 appellate court briefs
filed with the Illinois Appellate Court.
Mr. Grossman is highly regarded among his peers. During his 2006
judicial campaign, Mr. Grossman received some of the highest bar
association ratings of any first-time candidate in Cook County.
Since joining the firm, Mr. Grossman has obtained significant
tax savings for many small and medium-sized businesses as well
as large corporations. He has passionately argued cases before
the Cook County Board of Review as well as other boards
throughout Illinois. Mr. Grossman has also filed several appeals
seeking tax exemptions for not-for-profit organizations.
Mr. Grossman earned a B.S. from the University of Illinois and
his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago. He was
admitted to the Illinois bar in 1988.
