ROBERT S.
VIHON teamed up with Richard D.
Worsek in 1983 to form the Worsek &
Vihon law firm. Prior to going into private
practice, Mr. Vihon worked as a Cook
County Assistant State’s Attorney
(1978-1983) in the Real Estate Tax
Litigation and Chancery Litigation
Divisions where he tried many contested
valuation and exemption real estate tax
cases. He also litigated class action
matters, drafted appellate briefs and
argued various cases before the Illinois
Appellate and Supreme Courts. Mr. Vihon
has lectured before professional
organizations on real estate tax legal
issues, real estate tax incentives and
abatements. In 1995 he was an adjunct
professor at John Marshall Law School’s
Real Estate Law LLM program. He is a
member of the Chicago and Illinois State
Bar Associations; the International
Association of Assessing Officers; the
Institute of Professionals in Taxation;
Taxpayer’s Federation of Illinois; and
the Executive Committee and Tax
Committee of the Civic Federation.
For over 20 years, Mr. Vihon has served
as a board member, president and trustee
of the Center for Enriched Living, a
center enriching the lives of citizens
with developmental disabilities. Mr.
Vihon graduated from the University of
Illinois with high honors with a
Bachelor of Science and attended law
school at Illinois Institute of
Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law,
where he received his J.D. in 1977.
